This work was created during Sierra Merda’s MFA period and is part of the artist’s studio archive release. It represents a period of exploration within her painting practice, examining cultural references and the reclamation of historical imagery through contemporary perspectives.
This study was inspired by Peter Paul Rubens’ Samson and Delilah, exploring the composition.
Presented in good condition. Minor studio handling or paint marks are visible along the white edges, consistent with the work’s history in the studio. Overall, the painting remains in excellent condition.
