"Samson and Delilah" Original Painting

This work was created during Sierra Merda’s MFA period and is part of the artist’s studio archive release. It represents a period of exploration within her painting practice, examining cultural references and the reclamation of historical imagery through contemporary perspectives.
This large-scale experimental composition study was inspired by Peter Paul Rubens’ Samson and Delilah, exploring the relationship between classical painting traditions, power, symbolism, and reinterpretation.
Stretched canvas. Presented in excellent condition.
The work can be shipped either flat or rolled in a protective tube, depending on the destination and collector preference. If removed from the stretcher bars, the canvas will require re-stretching upon arrival. Original stretcher bars will be included.
